It is reported that the National Immigration Administration has officially implemented five measures to facilitate the entry of foreigners into China since January 11. These measures are designed to further eliminate hurdles related to doing business, studying, and traveling in China for foreigners, while better serving and supporting high-level opening-up and high-quality development.

The five new measures are as follows:

The first measure is to relax conditions for foreigners applying for port visas.

Any foreigner seeking to visit China for urgent non-diplomatic and official business activities, such as business and trade cooperation, visits and exchanges, investment and entrepreneurship, family visits, and private affairs, and unable to obtain a visa beforehand due to time constraints, can apply for a port visa at a port visa authority with an invitation letter and other relevant supporting documents.

The second measure enables direct transit passengers within 24 hours to be exempt from any inspection procedures at key hub airports, like Beijing Capital International Airport.

This policy applies to nine international airports in China: Beijing Capital International Airport, Beijing Daxing International Airport, Shanghai Pudong International Airport, Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, Chengdu Tianfu International Airport, and Xi'an Xianyang International Airport.

Passengers with international interline tickets transiting to a third country or region within 24 hours through any of the aforementioned airports can enjoy visa-free direct transit without border inspection procedures.

The third measure allows foreigners in China to apply for visa extension, renewal, and re-issuance at the nearest public security organs.

Foreigners seeking to visit China for short-term non-diplomatic and official business activities, such as business and trade cooperation, visits and exchanges, investment and entrepreneurship, family visits, tourism, and personal affairs, and having legitimate reasons for extending their stays, can apply for visa extension, renewal, and re-issuance at the nearest exit-entry administrations of the public security organs located in the places where they stay.

The fourth measure allows foreigners in China to apply for a re-entry visa in case of need.

Foreigners in China with multiple entry needs for legitimate reasons can apply to an exit-entry administration of a public security organ with an invitation letter and other relevant supporting documents for the renewal of a valid multiple-entry visa.

The fifth one simplifies the materials for visa applications for foreigners in China.

Foreigners whose accommodation registration records, business licenses, and other information can be verified through shared information systems are exempt from presenting relevant paper certificates when applying for visas;

When foreigners apply for a visa for short-term family visits or reunions with relatives in China, a declaration of kinship can be used in place of the formal kinship certificate.
