At the recent "2024 China Ice and Snow Tourism Development Forum", Changchun was awarded the title of one of the "Top 10 Ice and Snow Tourism Cities in 2024", and the Changchun Ice and Snow Festival received the recognition of being one of the "Top 10 Ice and Snow Tourism Festivals in 2024". So far, Changchun has won this honor many times.

 

In the new snow season, whether on weekends or weekdays, at the four major ski resorts in Changchun, one can witness skiing enthusiasts of different skill levels experiencing the joy of skiing. According to statistics, currently, after quality improvement and expansion of the four major ski resorts in Changchun, the total number of ski slopes has reached 53, with a maximum daily reception capacity of up to 17,000 people. Although the ski slopes at the four ski resorts differ in levels and positioning, they all provide "powder snow" favored by skiing enthusiasts.

 

In the new snow season, Changchun has created ten major ice and snow parks, with the Changchun New World of Ice and Snow as the main attraction, such as Jinyue Snow World, North Lake Secret Snow Valley, Lotus Island Film Leisure Culture Park, Changchun Zoological and Botanical Park, Bayi Island Ice and Snow World, and Jiuyu Ice and Snow Happy Valley. These parks are scattered in all directions, some within the city and others close to the airport. Each park features distinctive main products, ranging from snow play and entertainment to captivating performances, attracting visitors spanning all age groups. Whether you are an adult or a child, your needs can be satisfied.

 

The resources of ice and snow are alike, and Changchun has consistently integrated "innovation" throughout the development of ice and snow tourism. Building upon the foundation of sports + ice and snow and culture + ice and snow, Changchun has incorporated new elements like automobiles, electronic sports, technology, and animation into ice and snow activities. Through the combination of these elements with ice and snow, Changchun has successfully created high-quality ice and snow tourism products, enabling it to stand out nationwide and earn the title of one of the "Top 10 Ice and Snow Tourism Cities in 2024".

Since its inception in 1998, the Changchun Ice and Snow Festival has been held for 26 consecutive sessions. As a national major ice and snow brand festival, it has become a well-known domestic ice and snow gala event that shares Changchun's ice and snow stories, invites visitors to partake in ice and snow activities, and supports Changchun's ice and snow economy.

 

Through a series of ice and snow-related activities, experience activities, competitions, exhibitions, and forums, Changchun has established a large-scale, high-quality, systematic ice and snow industry system and chain characterized by a harmonious interplay of ice and snow, a combination of movement and stillness, distinctive characteristics during day and night, and coordinated development of dining, accommodation, transportation, travel, shopping, and entertainment, effectively driving the growth of the ice and snow economy. Statistics show that the first 26 sessions of the Changchun Ice and Snow Festival have hosted 300 million visitors and generated tourism revenue of RMB 500 billion.

 

Now, the 27th Changchun Ice and Snow Festival is in full swing. Centered around the five major sectors of "Ice and Snow Tourism", "Ice and Snow Culture", "Ice and Snow Sports", "Ice and Snow Study Tours", and "Ice and Snow Trade", the festival will host 10 main activities and over 140 series. There will be 10 major ice and snow parks, 40 ice and snow entertainment venues, over 100 ice and snow sculptures in key streets, units, and important places in the main urban area, as well as 100 outdoor ice rinks in scenic spots, schools, parks, squares, and other areas. In January, activities like the Changchun Ice and Snow Theme Painting Exhibition, Dramatic Music Performance, Changchun Ice and Snow Party, and Chinese New Year's Singing Party will be launched successively. From February to March, 35 events, including the national photo shoot with Meipai, the selection of Changchun's Top 10 Ice and Snow Entertainment Places, the ice and snow scenic area Spring Festival series, the national ice and snow camping meeting, and ice and snow yangko performances, will take turns to stage. Changchun continues to promote equal access to public ice and snow services and create an immersive, interactive, and joyful ice and snow season.
