On December 19, the 2023 Meeting of Changchun Consultation Association of International Friends was successfully held. More than 20 representatives of foreign friends from various sectors in Changchun attended the meeting. Deputy Secretary General Liu Renyuan of Changchun Municipal People's Government, Director Xue Chunzhi and Deputy Director Ou Shuo of Changchun Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, and relevant leaders from agencies including Changchun Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Changchun Education Bureau, Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs of Changchun Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, Entry-Exit Administration of Changchun Public Security Bureau, Changchun Municipal Health Commission, Changchun Municipal Government Affairs Data Administration, and Changchun Sixth Hospital were present at the meeting.
Since its establishment in May 2019, the Changchun Consultation Association of International Friends has united foreign friends in Changchun, provided suggestions related to the city's development, investment attraction, and international exchanges, and actively organized various activities, contributing positively to the construction of Changchun modern metropolitan circle. The 2023 Meeting marks the third plenary meeting held after those in 2019 and 2020.
It featured a review of the work of the Changchun Consultation Association of International Friends in recent years, a report on the economic and social development of Changchun in 2023, and an introduction to psychological counseling services for foreigners in Changchun, followed by the election of the new president and vice presidents of the Association. Ildiko Murray (Canada), Head of Changchun American International School, was elected as the president, while Annette Schaus (Germany), Head of Changchun German International School, Nobuyuki Uemae (Japan), Chief Investigator of FTCF, and Yu Qingji (Korea), General Manager of Jilin DeIn Trading Co., Ltd., were elected as vice presidents. Liu Renyuan and Xue Chunzhi presented letters of appointment to the newly elected president and vice presidents, respectively.
Ildiko Murray expressed the Association's commitment to consistently serving as a bridge and bond and working together for the common goal of building a beautiful Changchun.
Xue Chunzhi expressed the hope to collaborate with the Changchun Consultation Association of International Friends to jointly outline a splendid blueprint for the international development of Changchun and share the achievements and glory of the city's revitalization and development.
During subsequent exchanges and discussions, attending foreign representatives in Changchun provided suggestions on living services, passport and visa processing, cultural and sports activities, business work, and other aspects, and attending relevant leaders gave detailed responses to each issue, earning unanimous praise from foreign representatives in Changchun.
