From January to September this year, Changchun's import and export value reached RMB 88.59 billion, with export value totaling RMB 24.25 billion. The import-export structure has been adjusted from last year's 4.5:1 to 2.5:1, showing continuous improvement and optimization.

Foreign Trade Policies Supporting Enterprise Development

This is just a glimpse of Changchun's foreign trade enterprises receiving policy support. To effectively give full play to the leading role of policies and increase policy support for foreign trade, the Changchun Municipal Bureau of Commerce has actively sought special funds for foreign economics and trade to support the development of foreign trade enterprises and the construction of opening-up platforms. Simultaneously, in collaboration with relevant departments, it issued the Implementation Measures (Trial) for Supporting Small and Micro Enterprises' Currency Hedging and Credit Enhancement Services, further enhancing the ability of small and micro enterprises to cope with exchange rate fluctuation risks. Additionally, in collaboration with the Sinosure Changchun Office, it issued the Notice of Supporting Small and Micro Foreign Trade Enterprises to Apply for Export Credit Insurance Inclusive Services, launching a special action of "insuring to the fullest extent" with full coverage for qualified small and micro export enterprises.

Continuous Growth in the Scale of Cross-Border E-Commerce

Cross-border e-commerce can not only expand enterprise resources to enhance competitiveness, but also increase the richness of product supply to create advantageous product categories. Foreign trade enterprises in Changchun have firmly seized this trend, making the scale of cross-border e-commerce continue to grow.

"We encountered certain difficulties in cross-border e-commerce, including technology, overseas warehouse operations, and logistics costs. Upon learning about this situation, relevant departments in our city immediately helped us connect with third-party service companies and guided us in various aspects of cross-border e-commerce. Moreover, they organized overseas enterprises to come and match our needs, creating a good resource platform for enterprises," said Zhang Jiuli, Chairman of Changchun Jiuli Daily Necessities Co., Ltd.

Foreign trade enterprises in Changchun are thriving in the development of cross-border e-commerce. In the first eight months of this year, the foreign trade enterprises in Changchun achieved an import and export transaction volume of approximately RMB 20 billion through cross-border e-commerce platforms. According to incomplete statistics, more than half of the foreign trade enterprises in Changchun have joined cross-border e-commerce platforms, including 405 enterprises on Alibaba.com. The momentum and overall atmosphere of cross-border e-commerce in the city are gradually improving.

Efforts are intensified in conducting cross-border e-commerce training and marketing activities. In the "Global Digital Chain, Jilin Products Going Global" Cross-Border E-Commerce Live Broadcast and Supply Chain Service Resource Connecting Conference, Changchun had a participation scale of 320 people, covering the top 200 export enterprises in the city. Through the event, cooperation channels between enterprises and well-known cross-border e-commerce platforms as well as service providers have been effectively established. "Next, we will adopt the 'school-industry-government-enterprise' cooperation model, collaborate with training institutions, colleges and universities, business associations, and benchmarking enterprises, conduct specialized courses in various sub-industries, and strengthen the practical business skills of cross-border e-commerce enterprise personnel, such as customer negotiation, live broadcasting, and contract signing," said the relevant head of the Changchun Municipal Bureau of Commerce.

Promoting Foreign Trade Cooperation and Connection

Facilitating the "going global" efforts of foreign trade enterprises in Changchun to continuously expand the markets provides an inexhaustible driving force for the development of foreign trade in Changchun. In this session of the Canton Fair, the Changchun trade sub-delegation had 55 participating enterprises, which is 2.1 times that of the previous session, occupying 141 booths (including 8 brand booths). The booth allocation prioritized "specialized, refined, special, and innovative" SMEs and gave priority to the booth needs of manufacturing enterprises, promoting more SMEs to expand international markets through the Canton Fair and cultivating more foreign trade entities for Changchun.

In addition, this year, the Changchun Municipal Bureau of Commerce extensively mobilized and organized enterprises to participate in the 6th China International Import Expo (CIIE), with timely notification of the exhibitor list, the exhibitor distribution map, and other information to enterprises. It also organized enterprises in the automobile and pharmaceutical fields in Changchun to participate in the "6th CIIE Jilin Investment Promotion Roadshow" and other activities to explore business opportunities and promote cooperation signing.

"In the next step, we will strengthen the building of export brands and encourage the gradual transformation of local industrial advantages in machinery and electronics, auto parts, specialty agricultural products, optoelectronics, and pharmaceuticals into foreign trade export advantages.
