Mora Kommun is a municipality in Dalarnas län Province in central Sweden. It is located more than 200 kilometers away from the northwest of Stockholm, capital of Sweden. It has an area of 3,111.54 square kilometers and a population of 20,369 (2017). This is the birthplace of Vasaloppet, the largest ski event in the world. The current city of Mora Kommun was formed in 1971 by the merger of four old autonomous municipalities.
