Timeline

From October to November 2007, when Bo Zhong, deputy director of Changchun Foreign Affairs Office led a delegation to visit Mexico, he signed a letter of intent for cooperation with Tijuana.

From March to April 2009, Tijuana Mayor George Ramos Eilnandez led a delegation to visit Changchun, and signed an agreement with Cui Jie, mayor of Changchun, to establish a sister city relationship between the two cities.

From March to April 2010, Sui Zhongcheng, a member of Standing Committee of Changchun Municipal CPC Committee and deputy mayor of Changchun Municipal CPC Committee, visited Tijuana.

From February to March 2014, a Changchun sports delegation visited Tijuana.

From March to April 2014, Zhang Jingying, a member of the Standing Committee of Changchun Municipal CPC Committee and deputy mayor, led a delegation to visit Tijuana.

In August 2015, a Tijuana exhibitor delegation visited Changchun and participated in the 14th China Changchun International Agriculture and Food Fair (CCIAFF) Expo.

From August to October 2016, Zhu Jiaxi, representative of Changchun Foreign Affairs Office in Tijuana, visited Changchun three times.

In September 2016, Tijuana citizen Balassa participated in the International Sister Cities Marathon Invitational Tournament held in Changchun and won the 18th place in the International Men's Group.

In March and August 2017, Zhu Jiaxi, representative of Changchun Foreign Affairs Office in Tijuana, led delegations to visit Changchun respectively.

In December 2017, Miguel Angel Castro Cosio, secretary general of the National Executive Committee of the Mexican Workers and Farmers Union, led a delegation from Tijuana to visit Changchun.
