On January 24, the Changguang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd. held a press conference on the “first images” after the successful launch of Jilin-1 Spectrum 01 and 02 Satellites. From the images, the streets, landmarks, lakes and forests including the ships and vehicles at work in two Asian famous countries are clearly visible.

The Jilin-1 Spectrum 01 and 02 Satellites are also known as “Jilin Lincao-1” and “Wen Chang Super Calculator-1” Satellites. The two satellites inherit the mature stand-alone and technical features of Jilin-1 Satellites, with intelligent processing systems installed on board. The two are now joining the network of the previously launched 10 Jilin-1 satellites to provide remote sensing data and product services for the users of such sectors as forestry, grassland, shipping, ocean, resources and environment.

Theoretically, according to He Xiaojun, Jilin-1 Spectrum 01 and 02 satellites can be updated once every 14 days, and provide information of 26 spectral bands used as basic databases for change monitoring and trend analysis for pest, disease, sea ice, water bloom, red tide, sewage discharge and ground temperature monitoring as well as for fire alarm, carbon sink assessment, growth estimation and so on. Taking Jilin Province as an example, the 7-track transit can be achieved in 7 days in which the data of 690 km east-west width and 750 km north-south length can be achieved for a full coverage. The small side-swing can realize a full coverage of Jilin Province in seven days.

Also on the press conference day, a new version of “Remote Sensing Cloud Polarization” was released. This is a customized remote sensing fast-vision integrated service system based on cloud platform provided by the Changguang Satellites for its users and the public. It can be extensively used in such fields as natural resources, energy, agriculture and forestry, ecology, emergency management, national defense, military, scientific research and financial investment.
