Vasaloppet China Enters the Final Preparation Stage
With Vasaloppet China 2025 just around the corner, participants are eagerly anticipating their race bags and finishers' medals. Recently, some materials for the event have been prepared.
On January 2 and 3, participants can show their original ID card or passport to get their race bags at the B1 level of Sheraton Changchun Jingyuetan Hotel after signing in. If collecting a race bag for someone else, the agent must provide his/her own ID card, and the ID card (or a copy) of the participant being represented, and sign a liability waiver on behalf of the participant on the scene. Medals will be awarded on January 4 after the competition.
The race bag includes one number vest, two timing chips, a clothing bag, a race manual, two ski stickers, a distinctive souvenir bag, a cultural tourism stamp philatelic book, a winter tourism map of Changchun, and a brochure titled "We Meet in Changchun".
This event will adopt a net timing method. The Organizing Committee will use a chip timing system of the same specifications and standards as the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, with the same timing team overseeing the event. Additionally, the bibs and vests for participants comply with cross-country skiing-specific specifications and standards, with different colors, chips, and bibs assigned for different groups. On the day before the competition, the Competition Office will distribute supplies and race manuals to participants.
"The center of the medal features a snowflake-shaped component that can rotate and be detached separately. The number '23' on the snowflake represents the 23rd edition. All finishers will be awarded this medal." Ning Jun, Deputy General Manager of Changchun Nordic Ways, highlighted the medal design for this year's event. To enhance the brand impact of this event and make it more widely recognized, the medal style will be adopted in future events.
This event offers five race categories (50km, 25km, 6km, 1.5km, and 0.3km), to cater to skiing enthusiasts of different levels. As of December 29, 2024, 2,036 participants have registered, including 1,828 domestic participants and 208 international athletes from 33 countries.
