The 21st Changchun International Auto Expo Successfully Concludes

On July 22, the 21st Changchun International Auto Expo concluded successfully after a 10-day run.
The expo closely followed the development trends of "new four modernizations" in the automobile industry and focused on intelligent connected new energy products and technologies. A total of 124 automobile brands participated in the event, exhibiting 1,100 vehicles, including 307 new energy vehicle models. The expo saw high-profile appearances from traditional automobile companies and impressive performances from emerging brands. FAW Hongqi HS3 PHEV made its global debut, and 12 new brands, including Lotus and Fangchengbao, participated in the expo for the first time. Additionally, 55 new car models, including the Hongqi Golden Sunflower series, Lamborghini's new supercar, and The Durant Guild's HUMMER EV, were exhibited for the first time in Northeast China. The expo also served as a cutting-edge platform for showcasing the latest technological achievements and industrial chain transformations in the automobile industry, such as autonomous driving solutions, intelligent operating systems, high-end chips, high-precision lidar, and innovative battery technologies. CATL unveiled its Qilin and Shenxing series power batteries at the event. New technologies like MDK's automatic intelligent chassis, BYD's intelligent parking, and narrow-lane passage allowed visitors to experience the advancements in intelligent driving firsthand.
 
During the expo, a summit themed "Driving the Change of the Era for a Future of Intelligent Electrification" was held. Representatives from governments, industries, universities, and research institutes shared their insights. They had an in-depth discussion on the future development of intelligent electrification, the equal status of oil and electricity, how China's automobile industry can embrace technological progress, adapt to market changes, and seize opportunities in cutting-edge technologies, and other topics, and shared industry-leading perspectives, aiming to jointly promote high-quality development of the automobile industry. At the National Automobile Industry Press Conference, Cui Dongshu, Secretary General of the China Automobile Dealers Association, delivered a keynote speech titled Analysis of the Car Market Changes in the First Half of 2024 and Outlook for the Second Half. His detailed data and analysis provided a comprehensive understanding of the car market's performance in the first half of 2024 and expectations for the second half, as well as big data support for studying the overall development of the automobile circulation industry throughout the year.
 
The Auto Expo serves as a platform for the international development of Changchun's automobile industry. During this year's expo, several international trade and economic events were held, including the Changchun Business Roadshow of Chambers of Commerce of the Belt and Road Countries, the 2024 Exchange Meeting on Changchun's Second-Hand Cars and Parts Export to Russia, the Changchun-Russia Business Meeting, and the CEATEC CIS Countries Working Committee Matchmaking Conference. Over 100 guests from 17 countries, including BRI partner countries like Poland, Egypt, Pakistan, Nigeria, and Russia, as well as South Korea, attended the expo and held discussions. The expo provided a window to showcase the development of the automobile city and allowed the world to see the latest achievements and vigorous business opportunities in China's automobile industry. After gaining a comprehensive understanding of China's new energy vehicle industry, these international guests unanimously praised Chinese NEVs as "leading" and they have become new "fans" of the Changchun Auto Expo.
This year's expo received extensive media coverage, with nearly 3,000 journalists from over 100 media outlets reporting on the event. It ignited a lot of discussion on social media platforms on its opening day, becoming the hottest topic in Changchun in July. Major media outlets such as Xinhua News Agency, China Media Group, China Daily, China News Service, and People's Daily paid great attention to the event and reported its grand scale. Xinhua News Agency, China News Service, Phoenix New Media, and other media conducted live broadcasts one after another, offering an immersive experience of the grand event and showcasing the cutting-edge technological achievements of the automobile industry. In addition, the potential of online and new media like WeChat and TikTok was fully utilized, along with collaboration with several popular online platforms to carry out in-depth reporting. There were over 40,000 pieces of online information related to the expo, with the total number of views exceeding 320 million.
