On August 18, 2023, the 22nd China Changchun International Agriculture and Food Expo (Trade Fair) kicked off in the Changchun Agri-Expo Park. Zhang Enhui, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee, announced the opening of the Expo. Vice Governor Han Fuchun addressed the opening ceremony. Wang Zilian, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee and Mayor of Changchun, presided over the Expo.

Chief Veterinary Officer Li Jinxiang of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Vice President Li Xikui of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, President Zhang Yuxiang of Chinese Agri-products Marketing Association, as well as leaders of relevant ministries and commissions of the State, and ambassadors in China, were invited to attend the opening ceremony.

On behalf of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and the Jilin Provincial Government, Han Fuchun, entrusted by Secretary Jing Junhai and Governor Hu Yuting, extended a warm welcome to guests from various sectors, businesspersons, and friends at home and abroad. In his speech, he expressed gratitude to all sectors of society for their long-term concern, attention, and strong support for the development of Jilin's "agriculture, rural areas, and farmers" cause. Mr. Han stated that the Expo, after more than 20 years of development and innovation, has become a globally recognized and domestically renowned large-scale comprehensive agricultural exhibition. It has provided a platform for investment and entrepreneurship in Jilin, serving as a bridge for Jilin's agriculture to expand beyond the province and reach the entire nation. Currently, Jilin Province is in a crucial period of accelerating the construction of a strong agricultural province, promoting comprehensive agricultural upgrading, rural development, and the all-around progress of farmers. Mr. Han expressed the hope that the Expo would serve as an opportunity for fruitful discussions, effective negotiations, and the establishment of multiple cooperative agreements. Mr. Han encouraged everyone to explore and appreciate the charms of Jilin, indulge in its culinary delights, admire its picturesque scenery, and experience the warmth and hospitality of the people. He emphasized the importance of seizing the development opportunities and working together to create a brighter future.

This year's Expo, with the theme of "Developing Digital Agriculture, Leading Industrial Development, Enhancing Transaction Functions, and Helping Revitalize Rural Areas", spans a duration of 10 days. It showcases 41 exhibits and activities across three major sectors: brand sales and facilities, industrial demonstrations and popular science education, and economic and trade forums. Embracing a novel "10+365" online and offline integration model, the Expo has drawn a large number of businesses, citizens, and visitors for networking, exploration, and shopping.

After the conclusion of the opening ceremony, the attending leaders and guests visited the exhibition halls of the Expo.

Other participants included leaders of provincial and city-level delegations, as well as officials from relevant departments under central and provincial governments and cities (prefectures). Exhibitors from leading domestic enterprises, representatives of farmers in the planting and breeding industries, as well as journalists and reporters from various news and media outlets, also attended the activity.
