The 18th Changchun Film Festival to kick off on August 28
On the morning of August 1, the first meeting of the Organizing Committee of the 18th Changchun Film Festival and the press conference were held in Changchun. For the first time, the main events and highlights of this film festival were released to the public, and the countdown to the opening was officially launched. The 18th Changchun Film Festival will be held in Changchun from August 28 to September 2, hosted by the Jilin Provincial Government and CCTV, and organized by the Changchun Municipal Government. At present, a number of works such as Full River Red, The Wandering Earth 2, Lost in the Stars, One and Only and other works have registered to participate in this year's "Golden Deer Award" competition. Compared to previous years, this year sees a significant improvement in the enthusiasm of registration and the quality of films.
The theme of this film festival is "New Era, New Cradle, New Power, New Breakthrough". On the basis of the normal theme of "New Era, New Cradle, New Power", this year's theme has added "New Breakthrough", which refers to Changchun's film role in and cultural responsibility for achieving a new breakthrough in comprehensive revitalization.
During this film festival, six major events will be held: opening and closing ceremonies, film awards, film screenings, film forums, tribute to the "cradle", and market integration.
The opening ceremony is scheduled to be held at the Changchun Wuhuan Gymnasium to fully showcase the integration of art between "light and shadow in the city" and "cultural undertakings and industries", opening a new era of light and shadow in the brilliant performance;
The film awards segment will focus on mainstream Chinese-language films during the selection period and will select out outstanding works that better represent the development level of Chinese-language films;
The film screenings segment will organize a special screening of Russian films for the purpose of adding international elements to this Festival;
The film forums segment will hold a series of forum activities such as the 6th China Film New Power Forum to further serve China's film industry and empower the innovative development of the film and television industry;
The tribute to cradle segment will focus on "2023 Changchun Film Studio Night" and carry out a series of activities that highlight the culture context of films produced by Changchun Film Studio;
The market integration segment will focus on highlighting the expansion of film boundaries to bolster the integrated development of film, television, culture, and related industries;
The closing ceremony is planned to be held at the Changying Concert Hall. The "Golden Deer Award" will be awarded at the starting point of the cradle, continuously releasing unique signals of classics, inheritance, and new vitality.
The "Golden Deer Award" evaluation and award ceremony is to be hosted by CCTV. Ten awards, including the Best Film Award, Jury Award, Best Director Award, Best Actor Award, Best Actress Award, Best Screenplay Award, Best Cinematography Award, Best Music Award, Best Editing Award, and Best Debut Award, were set up.
At present, the preparations for this film festival have been fully launched. It is understood that the film collection work has been fully launched since June 29 and will last until August 5, with a period of 35 days, about 10 days longer than the previous two sessions. Film screenings will cater to viewing needs of different groups. In addition to organizing theater screenings well, various forms of screening activities such as open-air screenings and public welfare screenings will also be carried out to fully meet the spiritual and cultural needs of a wider audience. The China Film New Power Forum will be held for the third time at this Changchun Film Festival, and a series of forum activities such as "Discussing Drama and Seeking the Scripts" and "Innovation in Film and Television Technology" will also be held to contribute to the creation of film scripts and innovation in film and television technology. In addition, a series of boundary-expanding activities themed "Film+" will be held to promote high-level integration between film and related industries such as cultural tourism and entertainment economy, and help build an all-round development pattern linking film with local industrial resources.
