Krasnoyarsk City is the seat of the Krasnoyarskiy Kray Government of Russia. It is located in the central Siberia, at the intersection of the Siberian Railway and the Yenisei River. It covers an area of ​​348 square kilometers with a population of 1.08 million (2017). It has 7 districts and is the largest city in Eastern Siberia.

Located in the very center of Russia, Krasnoyarsk is at the intersection of intercontinental land, water and air routes. It is the largest transportation hub connecting Europe with Asia Pacific, North America with South Asia, and North Atlantic with North Pacific regions. It is the gateway to the world in Russia's Central Siberia.
