The Municipal Foreign Affairs Office Hosts a Symposium for Fortune 500 Japanese Companies in Changchun
To accelerate Changchun's high-level opening-up and further deepen its economic and trade cooperation with Japan, Changchun Municipal Foreign Affairs Office invited representatives from Fortune 500 Japanese companies in Changchun, including Toyota Tsusho, Marubeni, and Sumitomo Corporation, to an exchange symposium on February 13. The event centered on enhancing cooperation and optimizing foreign affairs services, with participants engaging in in-depth discussions and providing valuable opinions and suggestions.
At the symposium, Director Xue Chunzhi introduced General Secretary Xi Jinping's key directives on promoting the comprehensive revitalization of Northeast China in the new era and outlined the goals and direction for Changchun's cooperation with Japan in 2025. He also encouraged major Japanese enterprises to explore cooperation opportunities in traditional industries such as automobiles and equipment manufacturing, as well as strategic emerging industries like optoelectronic information, biopharmaceuticals, and life health, and future industries including new materials, hydrogen energy, and emerging energy storage, to foster mutual growth. Deputy Director Ou Shuo provided constructive suggestions for advancing Changchun's economic and trade cooperation with Japan. He hoped to attract more Japanese enterprises to collaborate with Changchun's firms in technology and talent development with the help of the resources and platform advantages of large Japanese companies. He also stressed the Municipal Foreign Affairs Office's commitment to providing high-quality services and establishing precise matchmaking platforms to facilitate pragmatic cooperation. Additionally, he invited enterprises to participate in the 2025 Changchun International Optoelectronic Expo and Changchun International Medicine & Health Industry Expo to jointly explore markets and strengthen partnerships.
During the discussion session, Sun Longwei, General Manager of the Changchun Branch of Toyota Tsusho (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., Huang Jianhui, General Manager of the Changchun Branch of Sumitomo Corporation (Shanghai) Ltd. and Head of the Northeast Region, Wang Pengwei, Director of the Infrastructure Department and General Manager of Changchun Branch of Marubeni (Beijing) Trading Co., Ltd., and Liu Feiyang, Chairman of Changchun Lingyun Real Estate Development Co., Ltd., introduced their companies' key business plans for 2025 and offered valuable insights on Changchun's economic and trade cooperation with Japan. They expressed enthusiasm for strengthening cooperation with Changchun to achieve mutual benefits.
