Changchun National Logistics Hub for Commercial and Trade Services Secures a Spot on the Newly Announced National Logistics Hub List
On June 24, the Changchun Municipal Development and Reform Commission announced that the National Development and Reform Commission recently released the list of national logistics hubs for 2025, approving the construction of 30 new national logistics hubs, including the Changchun National Logistics Hub for Commercial and Trade Services. This marks the third national logistics hub in Changchun, following the National Logistics Hub for Production Services and the Land Port National Logistics Hub. With this, Changchun becomes the first city in Northeast China to achieve the status of a "three-hub" national logistics city.
As an important node serving the "Belt and Road" Initiative and a new engine for Jilin Province's open hub economy, the Changchun National Logistics Hub for Commercial and Trade Services aims to leverage large-scale and networked operations to aggregate industrial resources and develop into a key gateway for China's northward opening-up, with a strong foothold in Northeast China. The hub comprises the Gongzhuling Area and the Lvyuan Area, covering a total area of 3.97 million square meters. Operated by an alliance led by Jilin Logistics Group, in collaboration with several enterprises, it includes 12 major projects with a total investment of RMB 6.3 billion, of which RMB 4.4 billion has already been invested. With five core functions (commerce-trade-logistics integration, trunk logistics and multimodal transport, regional distribution and delivery, supply chain integration services, and international logistics), the hub serves as an important logistics node and cargo distribution center for Jilin Province. In the future, it will further expand into fields such as the automobile and aftermarket, emergency support, comprehensive information services, and floral and cold chain logistics.
According to relevant officials from the Changchun Municipal Development and Reform Commission, the next step of the hub will focus on advancing project construction, enhancing throughput and storage capacities, and optimizing spatial layout to reserve ample room for future expansion. Efforts will be made to cultivate and attract a group of backbone logistics enterprises characterized by low operation costs, high efficiency, superior service and quality, and strong competitiveness, thereby fostering distinctive competitive advantages in the cold chain and express fields. It also plans to build a number of integrated hub facilities to promote the concentration of industries such as e-commerce express, flowers and seedlings, agricultural equipment, and food cold chains, thereby forming an innovative and efficient supply chain system and accelerating the development of a more distinctive hub economy functional zone.
