On the morning of February 13, the China Overseas Development Association and EY Oceania hosted an event titled "Online Promotion Conference on Australia as a New Hub for New Energy and Pharmaceutical Investment". Changchun Municipal Foreign Affairs Office was invited to participate, with Director Xue Chunzhi, Deputy Directors Ou Shuo and Yang Xiaoping, and officials from the Division of American and Oceanian Affairs attending the event via video.

The conference was presided over by Jiang Yun, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the China Overseas Development Association. Opening remarks were delivered by Li Qiang, Director of Government Incentives Advisory and Head of China Business from EY Australia.

First, Qian Siming, Director of EY Oceania's China Business Department, provided a brief overview of EY Oceania and the general investment landscape in Australia.

Next, Mr. Michael Newman, Head of New Energy at EY Oceania, gave a presentation titled "Australia's New Energy Sector, Its Opportunities and Relevant Laws".

Finally, Mr. Jason Wrigley, Head of Pharmaceuticals at EY Oceania, introduced the Australian pharmaceutical industry, investment opportunities, and tax incentives for foreign pharmaceutical companies investing in R&D in Australia. He also provided an analysis of key investment considerations and recent industry trends. This event was of great significance in expanding industrial investment and trade cooperation with Australia, as well as helping Changchun's enterprises gain a deeper understanding of the Australian market environment and development opportunities, particularly in strengthening pragmatic cooperation in the fields of new energy and biopharmaceuticals. Moving forward, the Division of American and Oceanian Affairs will sort out relevant industry investment policies, key considerations, and recent industry trends, and offer them to relevant enterprises for project follow-up.
