Recently, a China Railway Express (Changchun) train loaded with 110 TEUs carrying 150 Hongqi cars departed from the Changchun Yuanda Railway Integrated Freight Yard and headed to the Selyatino Station in Russia. Since the beginning of this year, 17 China Railway Express (Changchun) trains carrying commercial vehicles have been under regular operations, further expanding the region's opening-up channels.
Changchun is known as the cradle of China's automobile industry. The China Railway Express allows commercial vehicles to be transported directly upon production, with the flexibility to adjust transport based on overseas sales plans, resulting in shorter order delivery cycles and higher capital turnover efficiency. "Transporting commercial vehicles by China Railway Express takes about 20 days, much shorter than that of maritime transport and other transport modes," said Dai Wei, General Manager of Changchun International Land Port Development Co., Ltd. The opening of the special automobile export express provides customers with a cost-effective and highly efficient overseas transport option.
As the only company in Jilin authorized to handle China Railway Express transport, China Railway Shenyang Group Changchun Railway Logistics Center operates two China Railway Express routes from Changchun to Moscow, with one via Manzhouli Railway Station and one via Tongjiang North Railway Station, both of which reach deep into the heart of Europe. To facilitate faster and more efficient China Railway Express operations, railway authorities have actively tailored service plans for transport companies, prioritized transport capacity resource allocation, streamlined operational processes, innovated loading solutions, ensured safety, and worked to improve the quality and efficiency of China Railway Express services. In the first quarter of this year, 42 China Railway Express trains were dispatched, a 68% year-over-year increase, connecting nearly 100 railway stations in Russia and 30 city stations in the heart of Europe.
Alongside the rapid growth in the number of train departures and freight volume, China Railway Express's two-way transport has become increasingly balanced. In the first quarter of this year, there were 10 return trains, much higher than the number in the same period in previous years. The shift from heavily loaded outbound trains and empty return trains to two-way heavily loaded trains has made the China Railway Express cycle much smoother.
Today, not only cars and auto parts, but also electronic components, mechanical parts, light industrial products, and light textiles, among other goods, can be transported from Jilin to various destinations in Europe by the China Railway Express. This "steel camel fleet" is progressing steadily, providing strong momentum for the rapid development of our province into a new pacesetter of opening up, the formation of a key gateway for smooth dual circulation of domestic and international markets, and high-quality economic development.
