On September 16, the 2022 National Science Popularization Day and Changchun National Science Popularization Week Event with the theme of "science popularization for the future and in the celebration of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China" officially commenced.

During the science popularization week, the municipal association for science and technology will focus on helping solve hotspot issues with science popularization, including "double reductions" (ease the burden of excessive homework and off-campus tutoring for students undergoing compulsory education), hygiene and health, food safety, agricultural production, scientific COVID-19 prevention and control, disaster prevention and risk avoiding, low-carbon lifestyle, etc. Also, it will organize county-level and (prefecture) district-level science and technology associations to jointly carry out a series of themed science popularization activities such as "joint event of science popularization for communities", "experts visiting grass-roots level to contribute to rural revitalization" and "innovative programming design competition" etc.

During the science popularization week, the municipal association for science and technology will also cooperate with county-level and (prefecture) district-level science and technology associations to overall promote service quality and establish service platforms to provide the general scientific and technological workers and the public with more high-quality resources of science popularization, performing the role of serving scientific and technological workers, innovation-driven development, scientific literacy improvement for Chinese citizens and scientific decisions for the Party and the government. It will unify and lead Changchun's scientific and technological workers, perform its mission of striving for independent high-level technology and make breakthroughs and contribute to the science and technology of Changchun in the process of revitalization and development.
