Foreign Trade Volume of Jilin Province up 28.2% in First Fourth Months

In the first four months of 2021, the trade volume of imported and exported goods of Jilin Province amounted to RMB52.86 billion, up 28.2% year on year, including RMB11.44 billion for exports, up 19.8% and RMB41.42 billion for imports, up 30.8%. 

The growth of general trade of imports and exports was remarkable, accounting for over 90%. A total of RMB47.944 billion was made in the form of general trade of imports and exports, up 28.7%, accounting for 90.7% of the total of Jilin Province in the same period. 

The imports and exports from and to the EU, the largest trading partner, increased significantly, and the situation of trading with such countries as Mexico and Russia remained sound. The EU (excluding the UK), Japan and Mexico became the top three trading partners, accounting for 70.1% of the total. The imports and exports from and to the EU reached RMB29.91 billion, an increase of 41.8%, accounting for 56.6%. The imports and exports from and to the countries included in the Belt and Road Initiative reached RMB16.66 billion, up 45.3%. 

The main force of foreign trade included foreign-funded and state-owned enterprises, while the trade volume of private enterprises increased the most. Foreign-funded and state-owned enterprises remained as the main entities for imports and exports, accounting for more than 80% of the total, with RMB26.17 billion and RMB16.37 billion, up 24.4% and 31.4%, respectively. In addition, the trade volume of imports and exports of private enterprises increased significantly to RMB10.21 billion, up 35.9%. 

Mechanical and electrical and agricultural products accounted for the most in exports. The value of exported mechanical and electrical products increased significantly to RMB4.96 billion, an increase of 50.8%, accounting for 43.3% of the total of Jilin Province.
