According to the information released by the Ministry of Industry and IT and Chinese Federation of Industrial Economics, CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd. was selected as one of the “Fifth Batch of Champion Enterprises for Demonstration of Manufacturing Industry—EMU (High-speed Train) Rail Transit in China”

Insiders say the title is only awarded to such enterprises that have long been focusing on specific market segments with internationally leading manufacturing technologies or processes, and rank in the top three places in terms of market shares of single manufacturing products around the world. The effort made by the Ministry of Industry and IT in cultivating and selecting champion enterprises is meant to guide manufacturing enterprises to develop the spirit of “ten years of sharpening a sword”, insist on what they are good at and take the development road of “proficiency, uniqueness, elaboration and excellence”, thereby supporting manufacturing industry to move up to the middle and high end. The selection was started in 2016 and is organized once a year.

CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles is the first of its kind in the field of rail transit for passengers but the third winner of such tile after CRRC Qiqihar Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. (railway freight) and CRRC Qishuyan Locomotive TechnologyResearch Institute Co., Ltd. (Gearbox).
