The first-week transportation task for the all-cargo air route Changchun-Incheon was completed successfully as the flight YG9099 landed smoothly at the Changchun Longjia International Airport on March 21, 2020. In the next few years, Changchun Longjia International Airport will coordinate with domestic and foreign aviation enterprises to diversity flights to contribute to the creation of Changchun City as a modern metropolitan area and an international logistic hub in Northeast Asia.

In 2019, Changchun Longjia International Airport served 182 domestic and international air routes, and handled 88,900 tons of cargos with an average capacity of more than 1,700 tons a week. The maximum cargo carrying capacity is 14 tons. The average carrying capacity of the current three cargo routes is 300 tons a week, accounting for nearly one fifth of the total volume of the airport.

Traditionally, air cargos are transported in belly cabin. The volume could be affected by such uncertainties as number of passengers as well as weight and volume of luggage. Comparatively speaking, however, the weight and volume of cargos transported by an all-cargo plane are much bigger. In addition, the flexibility and professionalism of all-cargo routes are even more impressive. All-cargo air routes can provide customized services, for example, the route Changchun-Hangzhou to meet the need of SF Express Group in Jilin Province, and the one Changchun-Nanjing for China Post Jilin Branch to undertake the postal service of Nanjing National Post Air Logistics Center.

The route Changchun-Incheon serves the Xinglong Comprehensive Bonded Area the transportation of cross-border e-commerce parcels and goods of general trade covering auto parts, masks and other anti-epidemic supplies to Seoul, and that from Incheon to Changchun with general trade and cross-border e-commerce goods of cosmetics, clothing, auto parts, etc.

A round trip in a week opens up an air passage of bulk cargo transportation between Jilin Province and ROK, which in turn has laid a solid foundation for Changchun to apply for the establishment of China-ROK International Cooperation Demonstration Zone, and added new vitality to the export-oriented development of international trade and service pillar industries in Jilin Province.

With the rapid development of regional economy, the demand of air cargos will also increase in size. The in-depth cooperation between Jilin Airport Group and such major functional bodies for the development and opening up represented by Airport Development Zone and Xinglong Comprehensive Bonded Area will no doubt attract more manufacturers of high value-added products to settle in Changchun and thus facilitate the development of the airport industry of the city.
