World Children’s Day Lights up Children’s Future

November 20 marks the World Children’s Day. In response to the call of the United Nations Children’s Fund, the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development, and to further raise the awareness of the society of about children’s survival, development and protection of their rights, the Jilin Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, together with the Women and Children Fund of Jilin Province, Jilin Provincial Center for Women and Children, and Jilin Provincial Orphan School and Changchun City Administration Bureau, organized the thematic activity “World Children’s Day, Lights up Children’s Future” as an effort to convey the voice of caring for children to the world, publicize the city’s brand and thus enhance its influence on an international scale. 

 

This activity includes light show and-2019 World Children’s Day Thematic Celebration. The landmark buildings including Workers’ Culture Palace, Chongqing Road Vitality City, Guoshang (Weixing Rd. Plaza) and some LED screens are lighted up with blue lights to highlight the World Children’s Day. “We are thankful for all care and support from the school and the society,” said the student from Jilin Provincial Orphan School, adding, “We will study hard, be determined to become talents, and thus give the best we can to the school and the society”. The students who took part in the activity also staged wonderful programs. 

 

He Yanhong, Secretary General of Jilin Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, said: “It is the first time that Changchun City has participated in this activity. In the future, we will continue to connect with the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the UNICEF Office in China to set up more platforms, guide more non-governmental organizations and call upon everyone to participate in such activity and let children feel more warmth and love from the whole society.
