According to the list of hi-tech enterprises to be identified in 2019 unveiled by the Hi-tech Enterprise Management Network of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Jilin Province has 671 hi-tech enterprises of which 542 in Changchun, accounting for 80.7% of the total amount of Jilin Province, or 385 more than that identified last year. With such new ones, the number of hi-tech enterprises in Changchun City is about to exceed 1,000. 

In the past two years, the average growth rate of hi-tech enterprises in Changchun City is 51.3%, ranking the third among the 15 sub-provincial cities nationwide. In 2018, the business revenues of Changchun’s 653 hi-tech enterprises amounted to RMB176.5 billion, an increase of 16.7% over the same period of last year. A large number of hi-tech enterprises have become industrial propellers. The output value of Jilin Universal Machinery Group has increased from RMB200 million to RMB4 billion over the past several years. The sales of GenSci Pharmaceuticals exceeded RMB3 billion in 2018. Among the highlights for the local hi-tech enterprises also include Gpixel Inc, the only manufacturer of high-performance COMS image sensors in China, Changguang Yuhang, an undertaker of more than 40 projects of national aerospace engineering, Jilin Yongli Laser Technology, one of two enterprises on an international scale with the core combined beam laser technology, and Beifang Automatic Filling Production Line, a company with over 90% of market share at home. These hi-tech enterprises have added new vitality to Changchun City, thereby becoming a new force to promote the development of local economy.
