Palace Museum of the Manchurian Regime
To Cease the Spear Is the True Martial Art – Exhibition of Rites-Music Weaponry and Military Culture from the Zhou Dynasty
September 26, 2024 - January 5, 2025
Introduction: This exhibition is co-hosted by the Palace Museum of the Manchurian Regime and the Baoji Bronze Ware Museum, with support from the Art Exhibitions China. It showcases 116 handpicked artifacts from the Baoji Bronze Ware Museum, including renowned replicas of the He Zun (ritual wine vessel) and Plate of Lai (water vessel), as well as original items such as the Bo of Duke of Qin (percussion instrument) and the Forty-Third-Year Lai Ding (ritual tripod). Among these, the He Zun and Plate of Lai are considered national treasures that are prohibited from overseas exhibitions. Their presence offers a rare opportunity for visitors to gain deeper insights into the rites-music weaponry and military culture from the Zhou to Qin periods. Notably, the He Zun from Western Zhou recently appeared on the cover of the newly revised seventh-grade history textbook (volume one), Chinese History, published by the People's Education Press.
 
Exhibition of A Glimpse into Xiaobailou's Calligraphy and Paintings
Ascending the Greater Khingan Range and Colored Scroll by Dong Bangda
July 18 - October 18
Introduction: This scroll is a masterpiece jointly created by Emperor Qianlong and the court painter Dong Bangda in 1749. The title is written in Emperor Qianlong's own cursive script: "一览众山小" (A Panoramic View of Lofty Mountains). The first section contains Emperor Qianlong's calligraphy of the poem Ascending the Greater Khingan Range, with the signature: "Composed and inscribed by the Emperor in the eighth month of the Jisi year of Qianlong's reign." The latter part features Dong Bangda's detailed depiction of the historical scene of Emperor Gaozong's journey to the Greater Khingan Range and his poetic creation.
 
Exploring the Architectural Charm of Changchun - This Building Has A Story (exhibition until the end of the year)
Introduction: This exhibition is divided into four sections: "Styles and Characteristics", "Craftsmanship and Materials", "Preservation and Restoration", and "Practice and Dialogue" of Changchun's architectural heritage. It guides visitors from an initial introduction to a deeper appreciation of the charm and significance of Changchun's historic buildings.

Tracing the Origins of Changchun – Exhibition on Early Civilization in Changchun (permanent exhibition)
Introduction: This exhibition follows the historical development of human civilization in the Changchun region. Centering on archaeological discoveries and relics, it systematically presents the chronological sequence, settlement patterns, and social progress in Changchun, particularly during the pre-Qin era and prehistoric periods.
 
Stars Across the Sky - Photo Exhibition of 100 Major Archaeological Discoveries in China Over the Past Century
Introduction: Co-hosted by the Changchun Museum and the China Cultural Relics Newspaper, this exhibition made its debut on September 15 at the Changchun Nandaying Former Site Exhibition Hall. Through representative artifacts unearthed from nearly 100 archaeological sites, the exhibition highlights the centennial evolution and achievements of Chinese archaeology, showcasing the rich history and vibrant culture of the Chinese nation.

Stories Carved in Stone – Exhibition of Han Dynasty Stone Rubbings from the Collection of Changchun Confucian Temple Museum

Introduction: This original exhibition by the Changchun Confucian Temple Museum displays stone rubbings from Han Dynasty's carved bricks and stones in its collection, using the historical value embedded within as the medium. The exhibition covers three main themes: historical stories, social life, and mythological tales, vividly capturing the social landscape of the Han Dynasty. Additionally, the exhibition hall features a hands-on area for rubbings of Han carved bricks, offering visitors an opportunity to experience the charm of Han stone carvings while learning the stories behind the relics.

"Images of the Century through Lens of the National News Agency" Xinhua News Agency Photography Exhibition – Jilin
September 30 - November 30
Introduction: Xinhua News Agency screened out with care over 500 classic photographs from the China Photo Archives, showcasing the great achievements and profound transformations of the past 75 years, especially in the new era, from the perspective of the changes in people's livelihood. The exhibition in Jilin opened by brimming with numerous historically valuable photos, divided into six themes: "Developing Jilin through Industrial Prosperity", "Undertaking Responsibilities as Jilin Stands Firm in Agriculture", "Harnessing Vitality as Jilin Embraces Openness", "Colorful Jilin through Cultural and Tourism Enthusiasm", "Harmonious Jilin as Rural Areas Flourish", and "Jilin Caring for People's Livelihoods". Among them, as an important symbol of Jilin Province and Changchun City, China FAW Group Corporation has 85 classic photos selected, including the historic moment when the first Jiefang truck rolled off the assembly line after the founding of the People's Republic of China. These press photos showcase the glorious journey of Jilin's comprehensive revitalization and FAW's absolute progress. 
 
Roar of the Dragon and Might of the Tiger – Wu Dacheng's Memorial Exhibition 
Introduction: Over 40 calligraphy and painting works by Wu Dacheng are displayed, including rubbings of the "Dragon and Tiger Inscribed Stone" in the Longhu Pavilion of Fangchuan Scenic Area in Hunchun City, Jilin Province, six hanging scrolls of Wu Dacheng's monumental seal script work Book of Songs-Guo Feng-Bin Feng-Qi Yue at Jilin Provincial Museum, four pieces of Ancient Artifact Ink Rubbing with Inscriptions hand-rubbed and inscribed by Wu Dacheng, and the landscape album Landscapes from Wang Shimin's Perspective cherished by his grandson Wu Hufan, as well as couplets and letters, among others. They are all magnificent masterpieces with grand spectacle.

Introduction: This exhibition showcases 120 outstanding works selected from 17 member units of the Jilin Provincial Art Museum Alliance, including art galleries and departments from universities, covering various art forms such as traditional Chinese painting, calligraphy, oil painting, printmaking, and photography. These works not only present the collection's masterpieces but also demonstrate the elaborate works of teachers and students who are bound to inherit and develop traditional ink and brush techniques while exploring and innovating in contemporary art.
