On August 28, the 19th Changchun Film Festival officially kicked off, bringing together filmmakers from across the country at the Changchun International Movie Metropolis to celebrate the grand event and discuss future developments. Huang Qiang, Secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee, attended the event and announced the opening of the festival, while Hu Yuting, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Governor of Jilin Province, delivered a speech. The event was also attended by Zhang Enhui, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee.

The opening ceremony introduced the shortlisted films for the "Golden Deer Award" of the 19th Changchun Film Festival. All the members of the Jury were present, and Jury President Li Shaohong gave a speech. Distinguished guests and the audience attending the opening ceremony watched the short video Harmony and Symbiosis, the opening performance Starlight Sea, and artistic performances together.
