The Fuxing Bullet Train Makes Its Debut on UN Stamps
According to CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd., to celebrate "World Sustainable Transport Day", the United Nations Postal Administration (UNPA) recently issued a set of six high-speed train-themed stamps, which marks the first time that high-speed trains have been featured on UN Stamps, and the first appearance of China's Fuxing bullet train on UN Stamps.
In 2023, the United Nations General Assembly designated November 26 as "World Sustainable Transport Day", aiming to raise awareness of safe, economic, and sustainable transport systems, and to encourage the construction and development of high-quality, reliable, sustainable, and resilient transport infrastructure.
2024 coincides with the 60th anniversary of the world's first high-speed rail. This stamp set showcases China's Fuxing bullet train, and high-speed trains from Morocco, Japan, the United States, France, and Germany. During the unveiling ceremony of the high-speed train stamps at the China 2024 Asian International Stamp Exhibition, officials from the UNPA praised China's high-speed rail achievements and fully acknowledged the significant benefits brought to humanity by the technologically advanced and widely acclaimed Fuxing bullet train.
China Fuxing bullet train stamps will be sold at the UNPA Geneva Office in Switzerland. Citizens can also purchase them online through UNPA's official website (www.unstamps.org).
