On September 18, Helmut Stettner, CEO of Audi FAW New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. said in a video speech at the China-Germany International Forum during the 2022 World Intelligent Connected Vehicle Conference (2022 WICV) that in June this year, the Audi FAW new-energy vehicle (NEV) factory officially laid its foundation stone in Changchun. The project is now in full swing, and the mass production of the first PPE (Premium Platform Electric) model is expected to begin by the end of 2024.

Helmut Stettner said that Audi FAW NEV will specialize in the production of medium and large PPE-based pure electric vehicles, and that the PPE models produced in Changchun are tailored for the Chinese market, featuring long cruising range, fast charging, new electronic architecture and advanced driver assistance systems. He also revealed that the first batch of PPE models will be China-specific versions of the Audi A6e-tron and Audi Q6e-tron model families.

Besides, Helmut Stettner added that according to the "Audi Zero Emission Strategy", Audi FAW NEV will also introduce new impetus in sustainable production, with the aim of creating a net carbon neutral production base where all production areas will rely on energy-saving and sustainable technologies and the green energy will be 100% used.
