On April 12, Changchun New Area announced that Chang Guang Satellite had been listed in the "Global Unicorn Index 2024".
The "Global Unicorn Index 2024" released by Hurun Research Institute lists non-listed companies established after 2000 worldwide, with a value exceeding USD 1 billion. According to the list, there are 1,453 unicorn companies globally, with 340 of them from China, including Chang Guang Satellite.
Chang Guang Satellite is China's first company specializing in commercial remote sensing satellites. On October 7, 2015, the company successfully launched the "Jilin-1" constellation, marking the beginning of China's commercial satellite application and the historic achievement of launching four satellites with one rocket developed by an R&D team. As of now, the company has accomplished 22 successful launches, sending 131 "Jilin-1" constellation satellites into designated orbits (currently, there are 108 "Jilin-1" satellites in orbit and in operation) and establishing the world's largest sub-meter commercial remote sensing satellite constellation. Thus, it has occupied a dominant position in remote sensing information services and has gradually become an important source of global aerospace remote sensing information.
Going forward, Chang Guang Satellite aims to establish a 24-hour and all-weather global space monitoring network that covers every corner. It will continue to invest in the construction of the "Jilin-1" satellite constellation and steadily advance the development of ultra-high-resolution optical remote sensing satellites. It is expected to have 300 satellites in orbit by the end of 2026, which will contribute new quality forces to the high-quality development of commercial spaceflight and the construction of a space power.
