The Changchun International Optoelectronic Expo 2024 (CCIOE) is set to commence soon. On June 17, Zhang Enhui, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee, Wang Zhihou, Director General of the Standing Committee of Changchun Municipal People's Congress, Wang Zilian, Mayor of Changchun, and Gao Zhiguo, Chairman of the CPPCC Changchun Municipal Committee, met with the distinguished guests attending CCIOE.

Nearly 700 exhibitors have been invited to participate in CCIOE 2024. There will be the Optoelectronics Industry Innovation and Development Conference, the Light Conference 2024, and 23 optoelectronics academic and applied research meetings. Additionally, the expo will feature a series of activities, including professional exhibitions, project signing, and high-end talent recruitment, to bring together numerous experts, scholars, industry elites, and leading figures.

Zhang Enhui, on behalf of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee, the Standing Committee of the Changchun Municipal People's Congress, the Changchun Municipal People's Government, and the CPPCC Changchun Municipal Committee, extended a warm welcome to the guests and thanked them for their long-term concern and support for Changchun's development. He said that hosting CCIOE represents a tangible step towards thoroughly implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the Symposium on Promoting the Comprehensive Revitalization of Northeast China in the New Era while following the high-quality development strategy of "One Main Focus and Six Pairs of Coordinated Tasks" proposed by the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee, as well as an intrinsic requirement for Changchun to accelerate the cultivation of new quality productive forces and build a modern industrial system. Currently, Changchun is vigorously developing the new track of the optoelectronics industry, focusing on the 100-billion-yuan-scale development goal, and is striving to create an internationally competitive optoelectronic information industrial cluster, to provide ample investment opportunities for enterprises and a platform for talents to showcase their abilities. He hoped that the guests would actively respond to local needs through the expo, give full play to their advantages, deepen practical cooperation at broader and higher levels, and achieve high-quality development through mutual benefit and win-win outcomes.

The attending guests acknowledged Changchun's solid foundation, obvious advantages, and great potential in the optoelectronic information industry. They pledged to actively deepen industry-university-research-application cooperation, help attract more resources, talents, and projects to Changchun, and facilitate the development of the optoelectronic information industry and new breakthroughs in Changchun's comprehensive revitalization.

The guests attending the meeting included Cao Jianlin, former Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Chairman of the International SSL Alliance; Gu Ying, President of the Chinese Optical Society; Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, including Ouyang Zhongcan, Ben De, Wang Jiaqi, Wang Lijun, Lv Jian, Jiang Huilin, Tan Jiubin, Lin Jun, Cao Xibin, Luo Xiangang, Luo Yi, Liu Yichun, Ma Yuguang, and Sun Shengli; invited foreign experts; experts attending the Light Annual Conference; leaders of relevant industry associations; and senior executives from well-known companies such as Han's Laser, Sunny Optical, TPV Technology, BOE, and Huawei.
