On December 27, the Jiefang Power Changchun Super Factory commenced production and the Rollout Ceremony of the G-Power Domain Upgraded Lightweight Drive Axle 440 was held at the Changchun Factory's new axle base. Relevant leaders and representatives from FAW Group, Changchun Automobile Economic and Technological Development Zone, and FAW Jiefang participated in the event and jointly witnessed the production launch of another "super factory" of FAW Jiefang and the rollout of the "super axle".
The Jiefang Power Changchun Super Factory covers an area of 72,000 square meters, with a total investment of RMB 989 million, equipped with a production capacity of assembling and coating 320,000 drive axle assemblies. The project commenced construction on July 22, 2021. After 29 months of construction, it has been put into operation and stands as an important embodiment of FAW Jiefang's active response to the national "Industry 4.0" and the "Made in China" 2025 development strategy. What's more, it plays a crucial role in supporting Jiefang Power's accelerated progress toward becoming a leading provider of green and intelligent transportation solutions that is "number one in China and first-class in the world".
The Jiefang Power Changchun Super Factory has achieved breakthroughs in green, intelligent, lean, and reliable aspects. Multiple energy-saving, environmentally friendly, and energy management technologies were adopted during the construction of the production line, ensuring a green and environmentally friendly manufacturing process. The overall maturity of intelligent manufacturing reached level 3, with some parts reaching level 4, enabling human-machine-object connectivity and upgraded intelligent decision-making. The total efficiency of the production line ranked first in the industry, making production more automated and logistics more efficient. The industry-leading stability of the quality of the production line ensured the reliability of assembly and component manufacturing processes from multiple dimensions.
The upgraded lightweight drive axle 440 produced by the Jiefang Power Changchun Super Factory achieves industry-leading indicators in high efficiency and fuel saving, lightweight, reliability, oil change period, and low noise. The product can go through 800,000 kilometers before an oil change, and its weight is more than 101 kilograms lighter than similar competitive products. The drive axle's maximum transmission efficiency is 99%, with a comprehensive efficiency of 98.11%, a B10 lifespan of 2 million kilometers, and a noise level lower than the industry standard by 3 decibels.
Hu Hanjie, GM Assistant of FAW Group, expressed that Jiefang Power, as an important pillar of FAW Group's independent commercial vehicle business, has gained industry recognition for its excellent manufacturing capabilities and achieved a series of leading results in the field of intelligent manufacturing. The Wuxi Super Factory and the Changchun Super Factory, successively put into operation this year, represent the epitome of Jiefang Power's latest research achievements in intelligent manufacturing and reflect the first-class level of China's powertrain industry, which will undoubtedly help Jiefang maintain its leading position and lay a more solid foundation for supporting FAW Group's efforts to revitalize national automobile brands.
Li Sheng, General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of FAW Jiefang, stated that the commencement of production of the Jiefang Power Changchun Super Factory and the rollout of the upgraded lightweight drive axle 440 are powerful measures to build the core competitiveness of Jiefang Power's powertrain. Jiefang Power will make full use of the excellent foundation of the super factory to continuously introduce more advanced, reliable, and diverse product portfolios, and provide strong momentum for Jiefang Power to maintain its leading position in the commercial vehicle market.

During the project construction process, Changchun Automobile Economic and Technological Development Zone and FAW Jiefang worked together to promote the accelerated construction of the project, making it a successful example of supporting FAW's construction of a world-class enterprise. As of now, 33 projects have been carried out under the project of non-stop work in winter in the Automobile Economic and Technological Development Zone.
