Located on the urban trunk line Renmin Avenue, People's Square is considered the first stop in Changchun. It is not only a landmark witnessing the liberation of Changchun but also the largest garden in the city center, making it one of the prominent landmarks of Changchun. Covering an area of over 70,000 square meters, the square features a central island and a Memorial Tower of Soviet Red Army Martyrs. The square and adjacent streets are shaded by lush trees and adorned with vibrant flowers, while surrounding the square are numerous buildings dating back to the pseudo-Manchurian period.
