On January 4, the Opening Ceremony of the 22nd Vasaloppet China took place at Jingyuetan National Forest Park. Zhang Enhui, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jilin Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee, announced the opening. Director General Wang Zhihou of the Standing Committee of Changchun Municipal People's Congress, Mayor Wang Zilian, and Chairman Gao Zhiguo of the CPPCC Changchun Municipal Committee were present.

Jingyuetan National Forest Park in winter is a dreamlike ice and snow world with snowy trees, ice flowers, and falling snow. This edition of Vasaloppet China featured three professional ice and snow events, namely 50-kilometer, 25-kilometer, and 2.5-kilometer races, along with various mass ice and snow entertainment activities, showcasing the professionalism and participation of Vasaloppet cross-country skiing in an all-round way.

In recent years, our city has been implementing the "Two Mountains" concept and the initiative of "driving 300 million people to participate in ice-snow sports". Leveraging the advantages of ice and snow resources, we have developed comprehensive and multi-level ice and snow sports experience products, perfected the ice and snow industrial chain, and facilitated the transformation of "cold resources" into a "hot economy", accelerating the high-quality development of the ice and snow economy. Over the past 22 years, Vasaloppet China has been enriched and received numerous awards, including National Winter Sports Tourism Boutique Events, China's Top 10 Ice and Snow Tourism Festival Events, and Ten Achievements in the 40th Anniversary of Opening-up. It has become one of the core brands driving the rapid development of Changchun's ice and snow industry.

At the Opening Ceremony, Deputy Mayor Zhao Xian delivered a speech to welcome athletes and guests from afar and extend best wishes to the participating athletes for outstanding achievements.

Juha Viljamaa, President of the Worldloppet Ski Federation, expressed in his speech that the Changchun event was well prepared and Jingyuetan ski slopes were superior. He also wished everyone a pleasant time during the skiing competition in Changchun.

After the Opening Ceremony, athletes and skiing enthusiasts set out from the Jingyue Snow World. They swung their ski poles as they traversed the Jingyuetan forest and ice surface, enjoying the speed and excitement of ice and snow sports in the vast forest and white snow.
