At this moment, we gather on this passionate land ignited by ice, snow and youth, to jointly usher in this grand winter sports event for university students around the globe. Changchun, a city with profound ice and snow heritage, is embracing young friends from all countries and regions with an open and enthusiastic attitude.

From the successful Asian Winter Games to generations of winter sports athletes pursuing their dreams here, Changchun has long formed an indissoluble bond with winter sports. Today, we take over the baton from FISU, with the theme "Chasing Dreams in Ice and Snow, Youth Forever in Changchun", to build a stage for communication, competition and friendship for you. Here, you will challenge yourselves, push your limits, and write a chapter of youth with speed and passion. Here, you will meet partners from all over the world, respect your opponents on the field, share cultures off the field, and let the seeds of friendship take root and sprout across mountains and seas.

We deeply understand that a successful Games cannot be achieved without the efforts of every participant. Thanks to all the staff and volunteers who have worked hard for the preparation of the Games, thanks to the guidance and support of the International University Sports Federation (FISU), thanks to all partners for their strong assistance, and especially thanks to every athlete and guest coming from afar — your presence brings warmth and meaning to this ice and snow gala.

In the coming days, Changchun will present you with a professional, fair and safe competition environment, and also show you the city's charm of ice and snow as well as its cultural warmth. Here, you can sweat on the field, and also experience the fun of winter sports off the field, and feel the enthusiasm and sincerity of Northeast China.
