FAW Named Official Partner of Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade
"Where winter dreams become bright, Hongqi graces the Spring City's pride!" The launch ceremony for the official partner of the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade was held at the headquarters of China FAW Group on June 2. Gu Gang, President of the Executive Committee of Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee, and Mayor of Changchun City, presented an official partner commemorative plaque to Liu Yigong, General Manager and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of FAW. This marked the official partnership between FAW, together with its premium homegrown Hongqi brand, and the world-class winter sports event. As the flagship enterprise of China's automobile industry, FAW will contribute to the ice and snow sports. The partnership will generate mutual benefits for both the brand and the city's premier event.

A festive atmosphere filled the venue. A fleet of FAW Hongqi vehicles bearing the Games' emblem and visual identity lined up neatly. Their signature red color and imposing presence were on full display. This showcased FAW's robust industrial strength while demonstrating the sense of national responsibility and the mission of our times embraced by China's homegrown automotive brand in fully supporting the Games. A 33-meter hand-painted scroll made a stunning debut at the event, paying tribute to the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade. Jointly created by over one hundred university students, art enthusiasts, and FAW employees, the scroll creatively integrated FAW's seven major brands, the heroic images of winter sports athletes, and iconic landmarks of Changchun such as Jingyuetan National Forest Park. It reflected the aspirations and enthusiasm of the city's residents as they join forces to prepare for the international sporting event.

During the launch segment of the ceremony, Gu Gang and Liu Yigong, together with Yang Yongxiu, Chief Technician of FAW Group and Chief Technician of the R&D Institute Trial Production Department, Zhang Tian, Quality Testing Specialist in Internet of Vehicles (IoV) Security at the FAW General R&D Institute, Wu Dajing, Hongqi car owner and Olympic Winter Games champion of Short Track Speed Skating, and representatives from the Changchun Public Transport Group, the media, and university volunteers, jointly pressed the launch buttons, bringing the atmosphere to a climax. Attendees said they would act as city hosts, embracing the spirit that "everyone hosts, everyone participates." Through city-wide mobilization and collective efforts, they aimed to continuously elevate the atmosphere of the world-class ice and snow spectacle, fully showcasing Changchun's urban spirit of openness, inclusiveness, and enterprise.

Chen Bin, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of FAW Group, stated that this collaboration is a vivid practice that "the sports empower our automobile industry, the industry enriches the city, and the city enables enterprises to thrive." FAW will take this opportunity to amplify the voice of Chinese brands, to tell China's ice and snow stories well, and to leverage the strength of China's automotive industry to support urban development. The company aims to let the national brand "Hongqi" and the world-class ice and snow spectacle complement each other, bringing renewed vibrancy and distinction to Changchun through the hosting of the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade.
