With nearly 500 independent intellectual property patents, Changchun New Area possesses solid scientific and technological innovation foundation and strong industrial strength, and has fostered a full-fledged and highly competitive enterprise matrix for the optoelectronic industry, with steadily consolidated core innovation capabilities.
Benchmark enterprises including Chang Guang Satellite Technology, Changchun Guanghua Microelectronics Equipment Engineering Center, Changchun Yuheng Optics and China Machine Testing Equipment lead the industrial development, while leading enterprises in niche sectors such as Jilin OLED Material Tech, Changchun Hyperions Technology, Cedar Electronics, Changguang Zhiou and Jilin Yongli Laser achieve vigorous development. Changchun New Area has built a well-structured, full-chain and dynamic optoelectronic enterprise echelon, laying a solid foundation for high-quality industrial development.
Delving into Niche Sectors to Showcase Sci-tech Innovation Strength
Changchun New Area cultivates well-targeted sectors and continuously tackles core technologies. A number of industry "hidden champions" with leading technologies and solid strength have emerged across its optoelectronic industrial clusters. Many of their technologies and products have reached first-class domestic and international levels, driving the iterative upgrading of the regional optoelectronic industry. Leading enterprises in each niche sector focus on their major businesses and pursue continuous innovation, underpinning the core competitiveness of the New Area's optoelectronic industry.
In the field of optoelectronic displays, Cedar Electronics focuses on flip-chip COB fine pitch display technology and unceasingly breaks technological bottlenecks. With self-developed core technologies, it competes with international industry giants. Focusing on high-end displays sectors, the enterprise has made breakthroughs in key technologies such as fine pitch display and ultra-high definition imaging. Its products are widely used in smart cities, command and dispatch, high-end commercial displays and other scenarios, making itself a backbone in China's emerging display industry through reliable quality and advanced technologies.
In the field of optoelectronic materials, Jilin OLED Material Tech focuses on the R&D and production of OLED luminescent materials and key segments of the industrial chain, further optimizing product performance and overcoming technical difficulties. Its products consistently rank among the top three in domestic market share, effectively supporting the independent and controllable development of China's optoelectronic display industrial chain.
In the laser industry, Yongli Laser specializes in CO₂ laser products. Leveraging its mature production processes, stable product quality, and large-scale production capacity, the enterprise has consistently ranked first in both production capacity and sales volume nationwide, leading the domestic laser application market. Meanwhile, Changchun Yuheng Optics and Changchun Rongde Optics engage in optoelectronic sensing and instruments, dedicating themselves to the R&D and manufacturing of precision sensing equipment. By focusing on niche markets and sharpening core technologies, they have held a pivotal market position in fields such as industrial precision measurement and intelligent sensing.
In the commercial space sector, Chang Guang Satellite, relying on its cutting-edge satellite R&D, launch and application technologies, continues to improve the satellite industrial ecosystem, driving the coordinated development of the upstream and downstream of the low-altitude economy and satellite application industrial chains in Changchun New Area, thereby further enhancing Changchun's calling card as a hub of commercial space industry.
Building an Industrial Highland on the Momentum of the Expo
Leveraging its solid industrial foundation, Changchun New Area is deeply engaged in building "China's Optoelectronics City." Focusing on two key fields, commercial aerospace and embodied intelligence, it continues to expand the industrial scale, bolster the industrial chains, and optimize the industrial ecosystem. Meanwhile, it consistently strengthens the underpinning role of sci-tech innovation platforms and deepens strategic cooperation with the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Great efforts have been made to propel the Jilin Provincial Optoelectronic Industry Incubator from a class A national science and technology business incubator to an excellence-level incubator under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, thereby building a full-chain empowerment platform for sci-tech innovation and R&D, technology commercialization, and enterprise cultivation. "With a focus on the two new core arenas of growth, we are committed to elevating platforms and fostering a premium ecosystem to drive quality improvement, capacity expansion, transformation, and upgrading of the optoelectronic industry," Liu Tao emphasized.
At this edition of the CCIOE, Changchun New Area will innovate its exhibition layout by setting up two featured zones for the first time: the satellite application zone and the embodied intelligence zone. It will bring together leading entities such as Chang Guang Satellite, Jiyi Embodied Intelligence, and the Bionic Robotics Innovation Center, as well as other high-quality enterprises from upstream and downstream of the industrial chain for a concentrated showcase of cutting-edge technologies, innovative products, and the latest outcomes of the optoelectronic industry in Changchun New Area.
During the expo, Changchun New Area will concurrently host the "Remote Sensing and Communication Innovation Conference" and the "Exchange Meeting on High-Quality Development of Embodied Intelligent Robot and Sensor Industry." By using conferences to promote the exhibition and gather strength, it will build a specialized platform for business matchmaking, technical exchange, and project cooperation, promoting deeper collaboration and resources sharing among enterprises within and beyond the area. Through the expo platform, it will fully demonstrate the strengths of the optoelectronic industry and the business environment of Changchun New Area, attracting more high-quality enterprises and high-end projects to Changchun.
"Using exhibitions as a medium and conferences to gather strength, we will make every effort to ensure smooth industrial flows and aggregate high-quality resources," Liu Tao said. In the future, Changchun New Area will adhere to a differentiated development path, collaborating with other development zones in a complementary, differentiated development pattern. It will remain committed to developing the optoelectronic information industry as its leading industry, bolster scientific and technological innovation, improve the industrial ecosystem, aggregate quality resources, and keep expanding the scale of its distinctive industries. It will spare no effort to build a premier optoelectronic industry hub with core competitiveness, injecting a sustained momentum into the high-quality development of "China's Optoelectronics City."
