FAW-Volkswagen Celebrates 35th Anniversary with Grand Ceremony and Fan Carnival Kickoff
On May 30, FAW-Volkswagen kicked off its 35th-anniversary celebration and fan carnival series at the Arbitrarily River in Changchun. Over a thousand attendees, including car owners and employees, gathered to witness the company's 35 years of development.

Over the past 35 years, FAW-Volkswagen has grown from a single brand with one model at its founding to three brands — Volkswagen, Audi, and Jetta — offering more than 30 models. Its production network now spans five major bases across China, making it the first passenger car manufacturer in the country to surpass 30 million units in cumulative sales.

In his address, Dong Xiuhui, Director, Party Secretary, and General Manager of FAW-Volkswagen, stated that over the past 35 years, the company has consistently kept pace with the evolving needs of Chinese car consumers. Entering the new era of intelligent electric mobility, FAW-Volkswagen is rapidly expanding its new energy vehicle lineup and officially launching its second wave of electrification. The company is developing dedicated CMP and CSP platforms tailored to customer needs and plans to introduce over 20 new models in the next five years to fully meet diverse mobility demands.

At the event, Wang Shengli, Deputy General Manager (Commercial) of FAW-Volkswagen, unveiled exclusive 35th-anniversary customer benefits across the three brands. The company also selected 35 car owners from its customer base and appointed them as "FAW-Volkswagen 35th Anniversary Innovation Experience Officers."

The fan carnival featured immersive, multi-dimensional experience zones, showcasing FAW-Volkswagen's 35-year journey — from follower to leader, from manufacturing to intelligent manufacturing, and from deep roots in fuel-powered vehicles to breakthroughs in intelligent electric mobility. The atmosphere was lively and energetic, with visitors stopping to engage, share experiences, and take photos.

A core highlight of the event was the Innovation Showcase, which displayed the latest achievements in FAW-Volkswagen's intelligent electric transformation. Hardcore technologies — including a newly self-developed electric platform, proprietary electronic and electrical architecture, and in-house hybrid technology — made their debut to great attention. The Legend Museum exhibited classic models such as the Jetta A2, Audi A6, Bora, and Golf GTI. The event also featured a live music party and a fireworks show.
Standing at this new starting point 35 years on, FAW-Volkswagen says it will continue to move forward with stronger technological capabilities, a richer product portfolio, and warmer, more attentive services — advancing alongside its customers into a new journey.
