Gu Gang Meets with Academician Hartmut Michel, a Nobel Laureate, and a Delegation of Entrepreneurs from Geely Auto's Supply Chain
Recently, Gu Gang, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Changchun, had separate meetings with Academician Hartmut Michel, a Nobel Prize laureate, and a group of entrepreneurs including senior executives from Geely Auto. Both sides engaged in in-depth exchanges focusing on key areas such as industry-university-research integration, government-enterprise collaboration, and university-local cooperation, to build momentum and empower the high-quality development of Changchun.

On behalf of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, Gu Gang extended a warm welcome to Academician Hartmut Michel for his full-time affiliation with Jilin University. He elaborated on the supportive policies for Changchun's pharmaceutical industry, and highlighted the overall layout, industrial advantages and current development of Yongchun Medical City. Taking this opportunity, he hopes to further strengthen in-depth linkage and practical cooperation with Jilin University and the First Hospital of Jilin University. Further tasks include building a high-level collaborative innovation platform for industry-university-research cooperation, and driving the commercialization and application of more cutting-edge scientific research achievements in Changchun, in a bid to boost the high-quality upgrading of the pharmaceutical industry of Changchun.
Gu Gang met with over ten procurement directors led by Zhang Min, Deputy General Manager of the Supply Chain Management Center of Geely Group, and chaired a symposium. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on deepening industrial chain collaboration in the auto parts sector. Prior to the meeting, Zhang Min and his delegation had in-depth exchanges with the Changchun Automobile Industry Association and visited a number of local auto parts enterprises. Zhang Min and his delegation recognized Changchun's complete auto parts industrial chain, advanced production technologies and sound management capabilities. They stated that Geely will actively include Changchun's auto parts enterprises into its global procurement system to achieve complementary advantages and win-win development. Meanwhile, they announced their plan to further strengthen cooperation on market-oriented operations and cost control, and reached preliminary order commitments in certain areas. Gu Gang urged relevant departments to build cooperation platforms that facilitate capacity supply-demand matchmaking and support enterprises in expanding production and boosting efficiency.
In recent days, Gu Gang also had separate business discussions with enterprise leaders including Yin Wenjun, Chairman of Insights Value, Niu Min, Chairman of Futurespace, Jiang Ning, Founder of ProyesLab, Tu Feng, General Manager of Yinnovator, and Liu Sifan, Chairman of Zhongnong Guohe. They engaged in in-depth exchanges on aerospace industry layout, satellite industrial chain upgrade, "three-head and three-tail" agricultural model development (grain production with food processing, livestock breeding with meat processing, and farming with industrial manufacturing), and comprehensive straw utilization. As a result, a range of procurement intentions and cooperation consensus have been reached. Gu Gang urged all relevant departments to continuously optimize the business environment, proactively respond to corporate demands, fully support enterprises and industrial development, and provide strong support for the high-quality economic development of Changchun.
