Online Exchange Meeting on Foreign Affairs Work of Changchun Modern Metropolitan Area Successfully Held
To enhance the international influence of the Changchun Modern Metropolitan Area and establish a coordinated foreign affairs system featuring "mechanism synergy and resource sharing" in support of regional open development, the foreign affairs offices of Changchun, Jilin, Siping, and Liaoyang held an online meeting on February 28 to discuss collaborative advancement in the construction of the metropolitan area.

During the meeting, the four offices shared updates on their institutional structures, staffing, and ongoing foreign affairs work.
They reached a consensus on several key areas: promptly building a foreign affairs resource-sharing platform by integrating core assets such as sister-city networks, overseas Chinese community resources, and foreign affairs talent pools to create a "Metropolitan Area Foreign Affairs Resource-Sharing Database"; strengthening coordination in international exchanges and cooperation by aligning cooperation needs, sharing event information, and jointly organizing major foreign-related events to maximize the use of exchange platforms; and collaborating on international communication initiatives by inviting mainstream overseas media, renowned think tanks, and cultural figures to the metropolitan area and co-hosting branded international events to boost its global cultural influence.

The meeting also decided to establish a foreign affairs coordination system by forming a Leading Group for the Collaborative Development of Foreign Affairs in the Changchun Metropolitan Area. The group will be co-chaired by the directors of the four foreign affairs offices, with relevant division/section heads serving as members. The Leading Group office will be based at the Changchun Foreign Affairs Office, responsible for daily liaison and coordination, as well as organizing regular meetings on metropolitan area foreign affairs collaboration.

Other matters were also discussed at the meeting.
Attendees included Ou Shuo and Yang Xiaoping, Deputy Directors of Changchun Municipal Foreign Affairs Office; Wang Lu and Guo Yangang, Deputy Directors of Jilin Municipal Foreign Affairs Office; Guo Zhiqiang, Director of Siping Municipal Government Office, and Zheng Ran, Deputy Director; Li Yanhui, Secretary-General of Liaoyuan Municipal Government and Director of Liaoyuan Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, and Li Donghui, Deputy Director of Liaoyuan Municipal Government Office.
