  By the end of 2024, Changchun's total population reached 9.0851 million. Among them, the permanent urban population was 6.2167 million, accounting for 68.43% of the total population, with the urbanization rate increasing by 0.25%.
  In 2024, the city reported 39,600 births (birth rate 4.35‰) and 63,100 deaths (death rate 6.94‰), resulting in a natural population growth rate of -2.59‰. The male-to-female ratio was 99.98:100.
  Ethnic Groups and Religion
  Changchun is home to 54 ethnic minority groups, with five indigenous groups: Manchu, Korean, Hui, Mongolian, and Xibe ethnicities. The permanent population of ethnic minorities is approximately 400,000, accounting for 4.4% of the city's population.
  The city has five major religions: Catholicism, Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, and Taoism.
