Hjørring is a municipality of the Kingdom of Denmark. It is located in the northeast of the Jutland Peninsula and borders Aalborg Bay in the east. It belongs to the North Jutland Region with an area of 972.34 square kilometers and a population of 65,185 (2018).
The city is sparsely populated and socially stable, and its highly developed social welfare system provides free medical care and education to its residents. The city has a full range of sports facilities and often hosts various sports events. Its level of badminton, women's football and table tennis is ranked high in Denmark. The Danish National Table Tennis Training Centre is located in the city and it attracts many European youth athletes for training and competition every year. The World Youth Soccer Summer Camp has been held here many times.
The city attaches great importance to art and cultural exchanges and is the first city in North Jutland to offer Chinese culture classes in secondary schools.
