On the 30th, the mayor Jiang Zhiying met with mayor of Pohang, South Korea, Piao Chenghao and his party. The main purpose of the South Korean customers are to take part in the local government’s cooperation committee meeting of Northeast Asia, make an official visit of Changchun municipal government, and investigate the investment environment of Changchun .
During the meeting, on behalf of the municipal government, Jiang Zhiying welcomed the arrival of Piao Chenghao and his party. He said, Changchun has a strong industrial base, in the "First Five-Year Plan " period, Changchun was listed as China's major walking machinery manufacturing base, especially since the implementation of revitalizing the northeast old industrial base strategy, Changchun’s economic and social development have made great achievement. Currently, Changchun has entered a new stage of transformation development, further promoting the industrialization, urbanization to reach its climax. At this particular stage, Changchun is also facing the industrial transformation, urban construction, resources & environment, and many other issues. Pohang has the similar latitude as Changchun, with a strong industrial technology, it is also one of the initiating places for the new rural construction in South Korea, in terms of developing industry and promoting urbanization etc., there are many successful experiences, hopefully through this visit, the exchanges between the two cities can be further deepened, and more valuable experiences can be provided to Changchun, a new chapter of friendly exchanges between the two cities can be created.
Piao chenghao introduced, since the signing of the agreement for friendly exchange city, non-governmental exchanges between the two cities have become increasingly frequent, the various cooperations have been steadily boosted. Pohang and Changchun are highly complementary in the fields of trade, education, scientific research etc. , Piao Chenghao hoped the two cities shall continue to deepen cooperation and realize mutual benefits on the basis of the existing cooperation
