On December 4, Wang Zhihou, Chairman of the Standing Committee of Changchun Municipal People's Congress, met with Vicente Andreu.

Wang Zhihou welcomed the visit of the delegation led by Vicente Andreu to Changchun. According to him, the just-concluded 6th Plenary Session of the 14th CPC Changchun Municipal Committee proposed to enhance Changchun's leading position in achieving new breakthroughs in comprehensive revitalization and expedite the construction of a socialist modernized new Changchun characterized by high-quality development and high-quality life. He expressed the hope that the Confucius Institute at the University of Valencia would fully play its role as a bridge and bond and promote the sister city construction between Valencia and Changchun so as to become a global model of Confucius Institutes which could effectively disseminate Chinese culture and tell a good story of Changchun. Additionally, he wished that both sides would further enhance mutual trust and friendship as well as foster mutual learning and promotion by jointly establishing a new platform for cultural exchanges and opening up new space for practical cooperation in various aspects such as language, culture, education, talent, and economy at a deeper level and in wider fields.

Vicente Andreu pledged to consider Changchun as the "second hometown" and, building on the sound cooperation between University of Valencia and Northeast Normal University, make positive contributions to the sister city construction between the two cities.
