China and Thailand Sign an Agreement on Mutual Visa Exemption for Holders of Ordinary Passports

On January 28, 2024, representatives from the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand signed the Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand on Mutual Visa Exemption for Holders of Ordinary Passports in Bangkok, Thailand. The agreement will officially take effect on March 1, 2024. Under the agreement, holders of passports for public affairs and holders of ordinary passports from China, and Thai holders of ordinary passports, are allowed visa-free entry for a single stay of up to 30 days (with a cumulative stay not exceeding 90 days per 180 days). Those who enter the other country for work, study, coverage, settlement, and other activities requiring prior approval, as well as those who intend to stay for more than 30 days in the other country, must obtain corresponding visas before entry.
