Recently, FAW-Volkswagen's 23 millionth powertrain, the EA211 1.5T Evo2 engine, rolled off its production line at the Changchun base, marking a milestone in the development history of the company.

The 1.5T Evo2 engine, known as the "Volkswagen's second-generation golden power", is the latest generation product of the EA211 series. It plays a positive role in promoting product upgrade and improving user experience, and will provide strong support for the development of future FAW-Volkswagen's hybrid products. The powertrain meets "China VI" vehicle emission standards. Compared to the traditional EA211 engine, it has lower fuel consumption, faster response speed and more intelligent control and regulation system, with obvious technological advantages in the industry. By adopting Miller cycle and improving fuel injection pressure, it has achieved a performance of reducing carbon emissions by 8 percent and saving fuel consumption by 10 percent.

It is reported that since the production of the first engine in 1995, FAW-Volkswagen has built four powertrain production bases in Changchun, Chengdu, Qingdao and Foshan, with product types covering EA211 engine, MQ200 transmission, MEB power battery and other mainstream products. In the past two years, the company has taken digital innovation methods and made sustained efforts in developing engines, power batteries and electric drive products. Starting from 2023, it will add the ID.7 VIZZION pure electric product besides the ID.4 CROZZ and ID.6 CROZZ, and will gradually realize the hybridization of the whole series of products through newly developed technical routes.
