On September 11, at the 4th coordination meeting of the Changchun 2027 FISU World Conference, reporters learned that preparations for the conference are progressing efficiently and steadily, in line with international standards and regional features.
As a key component of the Changchun 2027 Winter Universiade, the FISU World Conference is the highest-level academic event hosted by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). At the conference, leading scholars and young talents in sports research and sports higher education institutions worldwide will gather in Changchun to discuss the frontier topics of sports academia, deliberate on strategies for sustainable development of university sports in the new era, and explore innovative pathways of winter sports education.
Since the launch of the conference preparations, the organizing team has established a smooth and efficient communication mechanism with FISU. With an ad hoc working group and task forces in place, it has set up the Operations Center of the Changchun 2027 FISU World Conference, and implemented key preparatory tasks in accordance with FISU's official foundational rules for hosting events. In doing so, the team has ensured that the conference has a clear theme, a correct orientation, a well-defined structure and standardized criteria, and that Jilin's distinctive regional culture is fully showcased.
Regarding the academic committee, the conference has appointed 13 Chinese experts and 6 international experts as its members. Meanwhile, the global call for papers has reached 30 countries and regions with the number of submissions meeting expectations, and the keynote speakers have been officially approved by FISU. These efforts have brought together a strong lineup of domestic and international experts, combining professional authority with international representation and further expanding the scope and depth of the conference's academic program.
During this meeting, the two sides held in-depth exchanges on specific matters including the schedule for the opening ceremony, the award categories, the application for the FISU Healthy Campus program, the publicity and promotion of the conference, the dissemination of academic results, and the support for international participants, working together to ensure the delivery of a spectacular, high-level, and high-quality international academic event.
