Recently, Changchun secured one China Patent Gold Award (one of the 30 awarded nationwide), one China Design Gold Award (one of the 10 awarded nationwide), one China Patent Silver Award, one China Design Silver Award, and three China Patent Excellence Awards at the China National Intellectual Property Administration's 26th China Patent Awards, achieving a huge success with the two highest awards.

The China Patent Awards are the most authoritative and influential national-level awards in China's intellectual property sector. Its winning achievements represent the pinnacle of technological innovation in domestic industries, carrying exceptional weight.

One China Patent Gold Award was granted to A Functionalized Polyurethane and Its Preparation Method and Application, pioneered by the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It has fundamentally broken the long-standing monopoly of international chemical giants over durable medical polyurethane elastomers, dealing with the most critical bottleneck in China's high-end medical device industrial chain.

One China Design Gold Award was presented to the EMU Train Head Car designed by CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd. It deeply integrates regional cultural elements, Chinese aesthetics, and practical requirements of modern rail transit. This design has enabled China's rail transit equipment to reach European markets, establishing itself as a shining calling card for the Belt and Road Initiative in the rail transit sector.

One China Patent Silver Award was received by Mode-Filtered Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser (VCSEL) and Its Preparation Method, developed by the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The VCSEL is widely used in high-speed data communications, sensing and imaging, and features faster data rates, higher imaging resolution, and more precise atomic manipulation, serving as new quality productive forces for 6G communications, LiDAR for autonomous driving, and quantum sensing. The core technologies of this patent have received support from 30 projects, including a special program by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology to boost high-quality development and a project of the National Key R&D Program with project funding of 293 million yuan. Thanks to the rapid pre-examination at the Changchun Intellectual Property Protection Center, the patent was granted in just 62 days, significantly shortening the cycle from R&D to commercialization.

One China Design Silver Award went to the Bestune Pony, which is a best-selling mini pure electric vehicle developed by FAW Bestune Automobile Co., Ltd. Built around the design philosophy of "cuteness, fun, tunability, and reliability," it has become a phenomenal product in the A00-class vehicle market. With a practical range of 222 km across all variants and energy consumption of just 8.8 kWh per 100 km, the Bestune Pony delivers both safety and practicality backed by FAW Group's quality assurance. Achieving cumulative sales of over 200,000 units, it has won wide market recognition and become a quality choice for daily commuting of China's residents.
