All-New FAW Hongqi H7 Launches Guinness World Records Attempt for the Longest Driving Range
On September 2, the all-new Hongqi H7 officially started an attempt at the Guinness World Records title for the "longest journey by a plug-in hybrid powered production sedan without refueling or recharging." This is a rigorous test under real-world travel conditions.
The Hongqi H7 will take on a challenging route across Yunnan and Guangdong provinces and the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, traversing diverse terrains and facing harsh environments and demanding real-world conditions, including high temperatures, rain-soaked and slippery roads, continuous uphill driving and urban traffic congestion. Without any additional energy replenishment, the Hongqi H7 will face all challenges in common long-distance travel, comprehensively testing the on-road performance of the Honghu Hybrid System.
Along the way, every kilometer, from mountainous plateaus to coastal plains, is a formidable challenge for its hybrid engine, battery thermal management and energy management strategy of the complete vehicle amid significant temperature fluctuations and constantly changing road conditions. Without the advantages of a closed test field, the vehicle will demonstrate its ability to deliver the long-distance range that consumers expect from a plug-in hybrid sedan in its standard production condition on real roads.
Setting out with a full tank and a full charge, the all-new Hongqi H7 will attempt to complete the entire journey without refueling or recharging, aiming at a new Guinness World Records title for the longest driving distance.
