From June 15 to June 18, Zhao Haiying, Director of the Changchun Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, led a working delegation to Shanghai and Hangzhou on a targeted investment promotion mission. The visit centered on attracting leading foreign-invested consumer brands to establish a presence in Changchun, drawing on best practices from advanced regions, and forging precise connections with high-quality economic and trade resources.

During their stay in Shanghai, the delegation held meetings with the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, Plug and Play China, and the Uruguayan Exporters' Association. These engagements aimed to advance external cooperation in Changchun's distinctive industries while actively courting high-end consumer brands. Leveraging the international platforms of the American Chamber of Commerce and Plug and Play China, the delegation showcased Changchun's urban strengths, facilitated targeted matchmaking with foreign brand owners, and sought platform-enabled support to encourage foreign enterprises to visit and explore investment opportunities in Changchun, thereby further expanding the city's investment channels. In talks with the Uruguayan Exporters' Association, the delegation highlighted Changchun's competitive industries and open business environment, expressing the hope to deepen bilateral cooperation in agricultural product imports and exports, building on existing collaboration in the agriculture and livestock sectors.

During their stay in Hangzhou, the delegation visited the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province to learn from the province's advanced experience in commercial and trade development. Han Jun, Deputy Director-General of the department, provided a detailed overview of Zhejiang's policies for attracting foreign-invested consumer brands, its factor guarantee mechanisms, and its service models for facilitating market entry. He also expressed the department's readiness to assist Changchun in connecting with additional quality foreign enterprises and resources, and extended a welcome to enterprises from Jilin Province and Changchun to expand into Zhejiang. Director Zhao expressed her appreciation for the strong support from the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province, briefed the attendees on Changchun's industrial development, and extended a sincere invitation for the department to organize delegations of local and foreign-invested enterprises to visit Changchun for research tours and to participate in signature events such as the Ice and Snow Festival, with the goal of fostering coordinated development between the two regions.

The mission yielded substantial results. Looking ahead, the Changchun Municipal Foreign Affairs Office will strengthen regular communication with the Department of Commerce of Zhejiang Province, the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, and other institutional and corporate partners, with the goal of facilitating the successful landing of more quality foreign-invested enterprises in Changchun.
