On 2 June, the unveiling ceremony for the Jilin Silver Economy Industrial Park and a related investment promotion event for the Changchun Metropolitan Area were held in Changchun New Area. The activities fully implement the provincial and municipal government's strategic plans for developing the silver economy, marking the beginning of a new phase of coordinated, leapfrog growth in this sector and helping establish a "Jilin Model" for the national silver economy industry.

The silver economy is vital to both public wellbeing and high-quality industrial development. Over the years, Changchun New Area has remained committed to a people-centred development philosophy, continuously building a "Happy New Area" and improving its elderly care service system. At present, the coverage rates of community-based elderly care service stations and TCM convenience service points rank among the highest in Changchun, and a convenient "15-minute elderly care service circle" has been essentially established, laying a solid foundation for the industrial development of the silver economy.

Building on its solid livelihood foundation, Changchun New Area has developed the Jilin Silver Economy Industrial Park to high standards. Covering 235,000 square metres with a total investment of 1.668 billion yuan, the park focuses on four core sectors: biomedicine, smart health and elderly care, elderly care devices, and rehabilitation assistive equipment. It aims to build a full-chain industrial ecosystem. The park has already attracted key enterprises such as Lktime and BBCA Biochemical, and has secured a number of high-quality projects with strong growth potential, demonstrating an early-stage clustering effect.

The launch of the industrial park marks a new phase of clustered, large-scale and brand-oriented development for Jilin's silver economy. The Provincial Department of Civil Affairs will continue to implement various support policies, coordinate special funds, project incubation and resource-matching efforts, and promote the coordinated development of all industrial parks in the province in line with the "1+9+N" silver economy development framework, with the goal of achieving leapfrog growth during the 15th Five-Year Plan period.

Going forward, Changchun New Area will seize this opportunity to deepen its footprint in the emerging silver economy sector. By improving full-cycle operational services for the park, nurturing high-quality local enterprises, attracting high-end industrial resources and innovating institutional mechanisms, the New Area aims to transform the park into a provincial demonstration highland for silver economy innovation, a platform for resource aggregation, and a benchmark for cooperative development, consistently translating industrial growth into tangible improvements in people's wellbeing.

On the day of the event, attendees toured the silver economy product exhibition, where they experienced cutting-edge technologies and innovations first-hand, including rehabilitation medicine and smart elderly-care equipment. Representatives from civil affairs departments at the provincial, municipal and district levels, along with relevant agencies of Changchun New Area and key provincial silver economy enterprises, participated in the event.
