Changchun Municipal Foreign Affairs Office Conducts Research Visit to Changchun University of Chinese Medicine
On June 3, Zhao Haiying, Director of Changchun Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, and Yang Xiaoping, Deputy Director, led a six-member delegation to Changchun University of Chinese Medicine for a dedicated research visit. Shi Guijun, Vice President of the university, attended the symposium.

Vice President Shi gave a brief overview of the university's history and outlined three priority areas for cooperation in light of the 15th Five-Year Plan: first, deepening Sino-foreign cooperative education by partnering with leading universities in Europe and North America, with the goal of launching one to two new joint programs; second, strengthening international academic exchange by leveraging sister-city networks to co-host high-level conferences on traditional Chinese medicine; and third, advancing the global outreach of TCM—with a focus on promoting ginseng research findings and self-developed formulations, exploring regulatory registration and clinical application in Hong Kong and Macao, and exporting acupuncture and rehabilitation technologies to Europe and North America.

Director Zhao spoke highly of the university's work and responded to its international cooperation needs on the spot. On cooperative education, she recommended prioritizing outreach to institutions in Australia and Malaysia. For Hong Kong, Macao, and Southeast Asia, she suggested tapping into the Hong Kong Chinese Medicine Development Fund, Macao's key laboratories, and the policies of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone to engage with bodies such as the Hong Kong Chinese Medicine Association and Macao University of Science and Technology. On technology transfer, she proposed leveraging the network of TCM clinics in Hungary, Austria, and other European countries to promote systematic export of tuina and acupuncture techniques, creating new pathways for graduate employment.
Both sides agreed to establish a regular liaison mechanism, seize opportunities presented by the Belt and Road Initiative and the TCM revitalization agenda, and work together to advance the global presence of Chinese medicine, contributing to national diplomatic priorities and local economic and social development.
Relevant divisions of Changchun Municipal Foreign Affairs Office and the university's Office of International Exchange and Cooperation participated in the visit.
