On April 20, the founding conference of the Changchun Ginseng Industry Development Consortium was held. The event brought together 39 key enterprises such as Jilin Beiyao Group, Changbai Mountain Ginseng Industry Group, Yatai Pharmaceutical, and institutions like Jilin University and Jilin Agricultural University. Focusing on the integration of resources across the entire industry chain, the consortium aims to build a coordinated development system that brings together government, industry, academia, and research to promote the high-quality development of the ginseng industry. Gu Gang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Changchun Municipal Committee and Mayor of Changchun City, attended and addressed the event. Gong Xiaoying, the newly elected President of the consortium and Chairman of Jilin Beiyao Group, and Wang Fang, Director of the Ginseng Research Institute at Jilin University, also delivered speeches.

It was unanimously agreed at the conference that as the provincial capital, Changchun must thoroughly implement the requirements for high-quality development of the ginseng industry as outlined by the provincial committee, the provincial government, and the municipal committee. The city should precisely position itself, leveraging its strengths in talent, research, trade, finance, and other areas to highlight its role in talent aggregation, research commercialization, industry services, and brand building, so as to better contribute to the growth of the entire province and its neighboring cities.

Changchun must strengthen the entire industry chain. This includes building a technology service center and vigorously developing scientific research, deep processing, and other business forms; building a cultural display center that deeply explores the cultural heritage of ginseng and integrating it with the city's cultural resources; and establishing a transaction and settlement center to digitalize the industry, localize settlements, and standardize transactions, while also accelerating the construction of a large ginseng trading market in northern China.

In terms of technological innovation, it is necessary to deepen collaboration with universities and research institutes such as Jilin University and Jilin Agricultural University, in order to fully tap into scientific research potential and unblock the transformation pathway from industry, academia, research to application. Efforts should be made to systematically revitalize idle factory buildings, industrial parks, and other existing resources, promote the sharing of facilities, exchange of information, and sharing of resources, and attract more high-quality production projects to settle in Changchun.

With regard to brand building, the consortium should serve as a bridge to bring together the government, enterprises, and institutions for establishing unified industry standards, standardizing production processes, and improving quality control systems to further enhance the credibility and market influence of "Jilin Ginseng" products.

Robust service support must be guaranteed by continuously strengthening the ginseng task force, collaborating closely with the consortium's council, and fully serving both entrepreneurs and researchers. The goal is to promote the clustering and scaling of Changchun's ginseng businesses, improve their quality and efficiency, and ultimately make greater contributions to the high-quality development of the province's ginseng sector.
